Talked to a buddy that lives up in Pike County Missouri and a guy shot a 226" typical 20 pointer. He said he seen the deer and it's just amazing. He said the whole things fishy as the deer stunk really bad and they are thinking he actually found the deer but he's claiming he shot it. I will try to get some pics of this hog. He also said 2 years ago there was a 200" killed off the farm next to this farm. I'll keep everyone posted.

I sit, watching and listening to the light rain and ...

i was able to harvest my second buck of the year on saturday. he is no monster buck but this is a deer that i believe is a 3.5 year old, i had saw this deer in during bow season in 07 and he was just a small basket rack 8 point but had a real funny lookin rack and i gave him the free pass, well last year i also spotted him and his typical frame had not grown at all but he had sprouted almost like a dagger point off of his right side base, well i passed him again hoping that he would blow into ...

Well I leave tonight for Deer Camp and needless to say I am pretty excited to get down there and get some hunting in with my family and some buddies. The tables hopefully will have turned and be in my favor. My struggles with getting deer to come in within 50-60 yards wont matter anymore cause now I can reach out and touch them.

I am curious on what everones thoughts are on the rut stage and how the deer activity has been within the last few days. I will be down in Southern Illinois so ...

I went on down the road and came back- and it still had not moved- so I stopped and looked at it a little more and it seem's like it was blind

We are in the middle of our gun deer season. Opening day was an absolute memory for me. Was up in the NE Lower penisula. Stayed with a neighbor at his camp and hunted with a friend's son at another.

At 7:30am we saw a decent buck bed down in tall grass, initially with another deer, we never saw her bed. He got up and milled around 2 times and bedded back down within yards of the initial bed. At 9:30 me and 12 yr old Patrick decided to go into stealth mode and stalk the buck. For an ...

After about 70 days hunitng I finally cut my buck tag. He is not a giant but he's an old buck and had enough character oozing off him I could not let him walk. I havehad way too many fires at home being unattented to carry on as I had been for the next 3 weeks. I'll give a story and more photos later when I have more time.
