Pa.'s youth doe hunt started today, so we headed to the farm after school. Set the blind up and waited, and waited. The temp did drop down to about 65 !!!! Needs to go another 40 or so !! Anyway just at last light we heard a crack from up top of the farm. My hunting partners son shot his 2nd deer ever, wasn't very big, one of this years fawns but he is in fact a kid and it gave him a perfect broadside shot at about 50 yards standing still, so he let the .270 bark. Then the rush was on to get ...

is sitting in the shalepit at the house, missing a roof, 3 windows and all the legs. Strong winds puched it over this spring and a new one is on the way.
Well after a long couple of days in the hospital with my 15 month old, we were finally able to bring him home today at 3:00. My daughter and I made a mad dash to one of my good acorn spots hoping to see some action. The weather was the pits, rain high swirling winds, and a few bird hunters. Well we made the hike in to the area I had seen some good sign and hoped for the best. We were sitting there and see a little movement and notice a deer feeding along the ridge about 100 yards away, I could ...

PRESS RELEASE

September 7, 2009

In his continuing effort to engage today’s youth, Dave Lee, a member of the Bass Pro Field Staff, raffled off a fully-guided fishing trip at Multi-Lakes Conservation Association’s member/son night in Commerce Township, Michigan. At the event, Lee talked to the group about the importance of getting youngsters involved in the outdoors, and nine-year old David Lonsberry of Commerce drew the lucky raffle ticket. When asked ...

On June 17th, I spoke at MultiLakes Conservation Club about getting kids involved in the outdoors. I'm on a personal mission to ensure that our hunting and fishing heritage remains viable for generations to come.

As a raffle item at a club event, I contributed a fully-guided fishing trip. Alexa Curtis, of Brighton Township pulled the lucky ticket. At the young age of fifteen, Alexa is highly interested in both hunting and fishing.

Both she and her father were on hand for the fishing ...

This past Wednesday, I spoke at one of our local conservation clubs during their Father/daughter night. I stressed the importance of getting the kids involved in the outdoors. Going in to it, I wasn't sure how the girls would react. I was really surprised how involved they got. We had a great time.

After I finished, I had all the girls come up to the stage and gave them all a raffle ticket. We put them in a fish bowl and then I had the cutest little 3 year old pull the lucky ticket.

The other day I took my son and his friend on a guided bow fishing trip. We ran into a lot of nice gar. The boys were on the mark!

Tyler put the shaft through two at a time.

His Buddie Zach put it to em.

Another one of Tyler's.

HOW ABOUT THIS ONE. Tyler gave it to a dog fish, the arrow went through and hit the snapper in the head. What are the chances of that????? I think the turtle was going after the dog fish as well. Wrong place at the wrong time!

OUR HERITAGE

The day my child arrived was the beginning of a new era in my life. On that day in November, a lot of things went through my mind as I held my newborn son. So much that it all seemed to blend together in a whirlwind of thoughts and emotions. I knew the first time I saw him he was going to be an outdoorsman. I mean, he really didn’t have a chance. His great-grandfather, grandfather, and I all had an obsession with hunting and fishing.

During the first few years of ...

How about this one! I was out with my little nephew fishing when I heard him say " David the turtle is following me". I walked over to him and this turtle was actually stalking him.

I had my nephew back up and the damn turtle came out of the water after him. I grabbed him as soon as he got far enough away from the waters edge.

Needles to say The old snapper ended up in soup!
