Try this one . put about a half pound of deer meat in a food processor and chop till kindof mushy. then add 2 jalapeno peppers and 4 green onions stalks and all. then add a pinch of salt and black pepper.turn the processor back on a few seconds till its all a good mush. take it out and mix it with some shredded cheese and bisquick mix. you want the consistency of a good hamburger patty. roll into balls and bake for about 20 minutes on about 400 or until brown on bottom

Jerky!! Whats your passion ?

Whats everyone use for jerky ? I have tried homebrews and store bought mixes. I just can't seem to get away from good old Uncle Abes jerky seasoning mix. I usually order the big box of mix from the Sausage Maker catalog. They have all kinds of good stuff in there and they are QUICK on getting the product out.

For starters, I use backstraps and ribeyes the most.

You can do this inside BUT I highly recommend doing it on a grill outside because of the smoke.

First take an iron pan and put it on a side burner on high heat. Get it nice and hot !! Take your meat and coat it with seasoning, I prefer Chef Paul's meat magic, a little garlic and onion powder. Toss it into the hot pan and sear it. Coat the otherside and flip it. Once it has seared, move it to the grill. After doing all the steaks put a ...

We usually use this for backstrap steaks, I cant remember which game cookbook the original recipe came out of...

In a sauce pan, melt down some butter, terriyaki or soy sauce (either is good), and some brown sugar. Amounts just depend on how much you're cooking but I use equal quantity of butter and sauce and cut the quantity of brown sugar by about a 1/3 otherwise it gets a little too sweet.

example: 1 cup butter, 1 cup terriyaki, 2/3 cup brown sugar

VA's Deer Stew

Cut up enough deer meat, into bite size pieces, to fill up a large crock pot. Add 1 box (2 packages) of Lipton onion soup mix and 2 cans of Cream of Mushroom soup with garlic. Add 1 can of water and stir. Cook on low power for minimum of 5 hrs. I usually do closer to 8. I will add a little flour to thicken up the gravy. I'll add some cut onions too (I love onions). Serve with mashed potatoes and your golden. I also like to serve it over noodles like a stroganoff (sp?). Good stuff just ask Barb!

This is pretty self explanatory....I'm sure most of you guys probably have done this a time or two, but I'll tell ya....you just can't beat it. All I do is half a bunch of jalapenos, gut 'em, fill them level with cream cheese, wrap them with about 3/8" thick slices of back strap, wrap that with a slice of bacon, season it with cajun seasoning, stab a toothpick or two through them and throw 'em on the grill for about 25 to 30 mins rotating them about every 5 mins. not to scorch them too ...
