Fished my last tournament of the year yesterday with a buddy of mine. It was a small club open tournament on the Potomac River. There were only 19 teams in it and it started at 6:45 am. It was post front conditions and it had rained like crazy all night. The river was real high but not too muddy. My buddy Jay and I headed to this one area and fished grass all day. We caught a good one right off the bat and then Jay caught another good fish. Missed one more on a frog and then the wind came up ...

Just a question about Natural Motion Lures. Has anyone ordered anything from them and had problems getting what was ordered? I ordered one of the moon clocks but got a big assortment of soft plastic baits instead. There is no invoice, and all the phone numbers either give you a recording or are disconnected. Anybody else had problems with them?

Jake and I went back to the golf course yesterday. Didn't catch many fish but 1 more good one. Jake started the day with about a 3-4 lb Bowfin. Then he caught a nice little bass on a plastic worm. I caught one about 2 lbs then a big one. She weighed 6.2 lbs. She made it back to my dad's pond. It's getting well stocked this year!!!

Went to the golf course a couple nights ago. It was late and only got an hour or so to fish before dark. Took Jake with me to see if he could catch a big one. Well it was a tough night. Jake got 2 bites and lost them both at the bank. I got 2 bites and had a 4 lber destroy my spinnerbait and come off. Then right at dark I caught one on another spinnerbait that weighed 6.0 lbs. Jake took the picture for me and the fish was released. We might go back again this weekend.
Strangest thing happened today. My dad and I were scouting some ground looking for where the deer were hitting the acorns and came across a pond in the middle of the timber, looking in the water we see fish...big one's and lots of them. We head back pick up the poles and go back. Three hours of a real good time and we had caught 9 nice fish from 2 1/2 to 4 pounds. What a blast.

I got out today by myself from 530-830 at a local lake I started fishing this year and I'm really starting to like this place a lot. Earlier in the day it was overcast with some showers, but when I got there it was sunny and hot. It started off pretty slow for the first hour or so as I only caught 2 bass on T rigged beavers. One of them was a 3 lbs 1 oz though! I started throwing the frog more often, but still not much action. Then around 7pm it got better as I started catching some on a t rigged ...

Went out on the Potomac Saturday with a buddy of mine. We fished from 6:00am to 6:30 pm. Long day with not a lot to show for it. I think we boated 9 or 10 total with several misses and quick releases! We managed a few nice ones though. Most of our fish came off Spro frogs, SK Ochos, and Babybrushhogs. Oh and 1 jig fish. The 4.3 in the first pic was on a BBH and the 3.3 was on a S&W jig with a Paca Craw chunk (black/blue).

I took my kids over my dad's yesterday to fish for a little while. I bought my daughter a new rod and reel after hers got broken last time out. I put a blue fleck shakey head power worm on a hook with no weight for her and she caught a bass on the first cast. Her second bass ever by herself. When I was picking the fish up out of the water I noticed a bigger fish following it. We couldn't get another bite. He lost a couple fish and I told him he needs to jerk back as hard as he can next time to set the hook. The next explosion he set the hook like there was no tomorrow. He fought this fish in like the new world record. I helped him lift it up on the bank and finally Jake caught his first bass by himself. It weighed maybe ...

My Dad, Tyler, and I fished a local tournament this weekend And took firs place. Fishing was tough to say the least. for some reason the bass had lock jaw until my Dad tied on a Wacky worm. the simple presentation enabled us to put 24+ pounds in the boat in just under 2 hours. When we got back to the weigh in, we found out that the 2nd runner up only had 9 pounds in their live well. If your not familiar with the wacky worm, I suggest you pick up a few and give them a try.

A gentleman had been(we'll call it fishing) fishing his favorite honey hole that only he knew about. Every day he'd come back to the marina with a boat load of fish. Well, the locals around there started to really get skeptical on how he was catching all these fish and no one else was having much luck. A few people confronted the man about it, and he told 'em, "I'm just fishing. Nothing to it."Well, another week went by of this and the natives were really starting to get restless. ...

I met Ryan at the course for a couple hours Saturday morning. He was there bushhogging on the other side of the property so I made a few casts in the "Pavilion" pond and caught a few nice ones. First one weighed 5.6 lbs (caught on a shallow crankbait) and the second was 5.3 lbs. (caught on a Brushhog). I also caught a 3 lber on the crank too. I did the best I could by myself with the pics. Sorry they're not great!

I got out this morning from 6-10 on a small lake not too far from where I live. I wanted to get better at using a jig and get used to feeling the bites and what not. I ended up using the jig the whole time as did my friend. My friend had a tough outing as I ended up getting lucky and catching the bigger bass but we were even as numbers went. We got about 50-60 bass total between the 2 of us. I ended up having my best day so far this year. I got my season's best 4 lbs 9 oz and also ended up getting ...

My buddy Ryan called me yesterday morning and said let's hit the course for a couple hours. We both had things to do later so it was just a quick trip. I caught one real quick that weighed 4.7 lbs. then it was slow for a while. I decided to try a Snag Proof frog and it was game on! We caught around 14 or so total with the best 5 fish weighing 19 lbs. Here are a few pictures.

Just got home from an evening fishing trip. Went out with Autumns boss to a local spot. They were hammering the bait today. Hope you enjoy the pics.

A HAWG!

One of the bass Autumn caught must have been starving. He has a soft plastic worm and hook in his throat and a huge craw dad. Then decided he wanted to hit Autumns bait as well.

Thought I would share a few pics of some of the better fish I caught last summer and the few I have caught so far this year. As the ones who know me, know I am a cat man. I like catching bass early spring but once it starts warming up I forget about them and focus on catfish. Nothing better to catch in my opinion, plus they taste great haha.

Some bass (They are no where near Barb's level )

Some Crappie

My boy was happry to catch that Crappie until I told him he had to take it off the hook. My daughter caught a little mud cat and after that she had a huge bass break her line and ...

A buddy and I took our girlfriends fishin on Saturday night. We all had a rough night Friday night at a wedding reception so a nice relaxing evening of fishing sounded pretty good!

Started off catching a few bass and some bluegills... I didn't even get to fish much cause I was constantly taking fish off the hook and putting worms back on!

Last week I was down in the Key's with my wife Lisa. We found that the inter coastal behind the house proved to be good fishing!

We caught lots of Parrot fish. These things burned through 20lb like it was thread. We had to break out the 50lb spider wire in order to get them in. Allot tougher than they look!

Some really good eating snapper.

Hog fish, which are excellent on the table.

We wanted to target Tarpon but the wind was blowing 35 to 40 knots all week. The flats ...
