My buddy smacked a GIANT!

Post  shedder on Thu Sep 11, 2014 2:52 pm

I won't post the pics he sent me cause I'm sure there will be magazines calling!
Mid 190's typical twelve point in full velvet!
Damn what a stud buck!!!  Couldn't of happened to a nicer guy!
Not sure what he thinks of record books but I'm pretty sure it would go in the top handful of velvet typicals if scored as is!

Yeah Barb unfortunately it's at this time in a hunters life when he learns who his real friends are and who the punks are.  When that bud you thought was a bud doesn't care about your best interest and goes out and posts your once in a life time on a forum when you know full well it's going to be the feature story of a magazine somewhere out there what, just so you can get a little run???
Gotta love those so called friends...
A "friend" in Wisconsin did it to him as well!  I just don't get it he's my friend. I couldn't do that to him.

I have been talking back and forth with this hunter, I have seen the pic with a promise to him it wouldn't be shared. I do keep my promises, Hopefully he will commit and we can get it published with BGI. Matt you are spot on with the so called trust issue when it comes with friends or so called friends.

I'm with you barb!  Id rather not hear about it at all than have people whispering around about how great it is but you can't see it. Feels like grade school. On another note, I don't get why It would hurt to have pics fly around. It's the story that gets people to buy the magazine. How many of the big bucks in NAW have you seen all over the internet before they are in the magazine?  It's a high percentage. It's the story that is the draw, a teaser pic or two is what peaks interest in the story and makes people buy a magazine when they see a big deer that they remember from earlier in the year.

Congrats to him I can't wait to see it! The guy that owns the farm next to the one I hunt shot a 200 incher and one of his friends shared the picture after he asked him not to. Within a week it was circulating on the internet he was still on the cover of a magazine though

Personally I can respect not wanting the pics out there. I will give you 2 reasons why, anyone remember these bucks, The King buck, or Mitch Rompola? What could have possibly been two World record contenders but because of the pre scoring hype and BS they are now both clouded with controversy. Any time a huge buck pops up there is instant controversy and in the end some hunters get beat up so bad and drug through the mud they are like screw it I will just take my deer and disappear.
