All this time I thought the neighbors were shooting all the bucks. LOL. On a side note as if the coyotes sneaking up on me or getting shot walking to my stand wasn't bad enough,  now I have to worry about being swallowed by the earth.Shocked

I was walking across a fescue pasture in Iowa last spring when we were turkey hunting. I stepped into a hole and thought I broke my leg!  I never touched bottom. The grass was growing up around the whole, it looked like the rest of the field. Some scarey stuff.  I wasn't expecting a deer to come out of that hole on the video, that was crazy

That's nuts!! While moose hunting a couple weeks ago i took a step into what I thought was just a little mud pudddle (I could have stepped over it very easily) I ended up going in up over my chest and still wasn't touching bottom!

I never worried much about sinkholes ( well until now ) but have worried about old abandoned wells !! I know where a few are , one has since been covered with 4" tube steel made into a frame and covered with big rocks !! We just happened to find it while scouting for bear. We knew of a small rock pile , but little did we know it was an old well on the property. This well is at least 100 feet deep , that's when we ran out of string !!! I know the mountains not all that far from here are littered with old coal mines and you never know where a vent hole may be.

When I saw this, all I could think was here's a sink hole that these guys likely have know idea how big it is and they're risking there life there to save a deer.  scratch Not so sure I would.

At least they did  have a  rope tied to the truck,
Like  a few other's have said,   I have had some very scarey   thing's happen  also while out walking or even on the quad, where the ground just disappeared  , I will never forget that  first year  Eric came up to hunt with here on the  Adams farm and we were on the quad on the back road, and thank god  I noticed the  big hole in the road because it was big enough to swallow the quad,
 Take this  stuff serious   People.
Here is the link to one of the   Missouri deaths  I was  talking about that happened last  year,
