Oct 24th and  watching a doe  let her fawn nurse, And  I mean this fawn is doing some serious  sucking and  momma is licking her behind and allowing this?  Is this doe still producing milk, scratch scratch

I seen it the other day also! The fawns took off at a full run and started going at it. 2 of them. And she just stood there.

Its probably a late born fawn and They can keep producing milk like a human if she keeps feeding them like that, see it late in the season up here quite a bit.

I also saw two fawns do this last weekend. I thought it was strange also. Normally this time of year I see does kicking the fawns off when they try it.

Yes, that is normal. Especially if the fawn was born later in the summer.

My money is going with a late born fawn. We have at least 6 fawns out at the woodland property that had spots on the 3rd or 4th of October, which put them about 2 months behind the fawns I have here at the house.

I saw one nursing on Tuesday evening also!  Thought it was strange but now that others have mentioned it...it was a young looking fawn compared to the others.
