Super Bowl Tradition

Post  Willy on Sun Feb 01, 2015 3:03 pm

Every year along with all the other stuff the wife and friends wives make to bring over to watch the game , I get asked to make a pot of my Chilli. The first time I did it years back everyone asked the wife , Why are there two pots of chilli ? The wife said , cuz he puts things in his not everyone would like.  And she left it at that.  Truth was she didn't want to freak out a few of the gals by telling them there was venison in it.  It was funny because the ones she worried about ended up really liking it.  So it's been just one pot ever since.  I fessed up the next year and after a few wide eyed mouth wide open silent minutes , it was all good.
The beginning of my super bowl chilli.
2 lbs or so of Venison ground meat
2 big yellow onions chopped up
Rotel diced tomatoes and green chillis
Stewed tomatoes diced
Couple cans of chilli beans and a can of white kidney beans
Clove of garlic chopped and smashed
Chilli powder
Cumin
Slap ya momma seasoning
Put it all together and let it cook an hour or so. Then let it sit another hour or so so the spices can all get together.

The start

Willy, what a small world. I just told Holly about it and she got this big funny look on her face and said, " I know who makes it" Some couple in Florida that she knew.
