Mystery solved!

Post  chukbuk on Fri Mar 20, 2015 6:05 am

I have a Green Egg charcoal grill on my patio (which I love), and a mystery arose over the winter with it as green paint chips seemed to be blistering off of the lid.  I was pissed at first because of how expensive the grill is and then baffled because it kept happening and I couldn't understand why!
I first guessed that below zero nights caused a little moisture under the paint to do it.  Then when I saw more after not so cold weather and suspected red bellied wood pecker was hitting it because the grill is near a feeder...though that seemed unlikely.

Solved this morning at 5 am when I switched on the porch light to see if the snow had started falling yet.  The culprit was a large raccoon who was up on his hind legs trying to claw his way into the grill!  Must smell the salmon cooked in there in the past!  I've got a bullet for that fatso
