For anyone thinking about using the bow this spring

Post  Willy on Thu Mar 26, 2015 3:22 pm

This is a great reference pictures for anybody going aft the long beards with thier bow this spring.  Shows how small your target really is and how a blown up Tom is so much more feathers than anything else

Hey Rick, you know if you cut one of thier feet off its just as deadly.   And seroiusly comical for anyone with you watching you trying to catch him. You know they cant fly if you take out one of thier legs. Yes sir.  Lessons learned.  They have to be able to jump up off the ground to get thier wings underneath them. If not when they try to fly the wings hit the ground before they get any lift.
Just saying, there are two legs, only one neck.

Hmmmmmm . Think I may go for the legs !!!! I saw a guy take a leg out with the shotgun a few years ago , and yes it was funny watching him walk up to the bird only to see Mr. Tom turkey all of the sudden come "back to life" !! He all but s**t his pants , then blasted it in the head . After the shot the bird flopped around and just laid down. Not the case when he reached down to pick him up Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

The only thing I see on the skeletal pic that seems a little off is the legs. Unless that bird is on the roost. I've heard in the past to aim straight up the leg, but I never realized that taking out a leg would ground them but make good sense. Great pics Willy.
