Post  bowGal on Fri May 01, 2015 3:21 pm

Larry is  finally  done  building this  next mower for the  skid steer, Aint she pretty,   I can not wait to get some   path's mowed threw the timber,
he is going to  swap the hoses out  , He want's them at least another  foot or so longer  for  more forward tilt,
I think he  did an awesome  job, he worked his butt off  making this   .

I think we should paint the skid steer red now so it matches. ( LOL

Oh and  I got home from work at  1:10 today and  guess who was  walking out in the side  yard, Yep my darn  turkey,  I want to  check cam's but  I am not  hopefully he  will be at my blind in the morning, He was gobbling  great this morning, Hunting

I think I'd lean more towards 18"- 2ft for hoses.  Does this allow the blades to spin both clockwise and counter clockwise?  Only reason I ask, is because the one I have at work has that feature with sharpened blades on each side- we use 1 side when doing grass and the other when we get into more saplings / small trees.  Works out pretty well.   Now the million $$$ question,  with what he's got into it for materials, plus trying to put a price on his own time, did you come ahead vs. just going and buying one?  Looks good!

Zach  yes the blade's spin both way's- As for the cost, yes he saved a bundle- He is a machinist, all the  metal, hose's  and other then a couple of hose   fittings   needed he got from work  with a scrap pass, from his employer, I would have to look up what we paid for the  hydralic, motor,  i think it was like  300.00and  I know he  purchased a  different  spider  then the one that came with it, I know the skid steer plate attachement he  paid 150.00 for- we had every thing we needed as far welding  supplies goes,   Funny thing is  our lease owner's son offered to  buy us     one, and  we could not  find one under  close to the  4000,00 price line, My hubby is a  tight wad,  If he can make  it - he will - it was brutal on him at time's- I told him a hundred time's just buy one, or let our lease owner's son     for gosh sake's,
In the  end   we will come out ahead by all means, be it  by  our lease owner  paying for the  work  they want done that or not having to  pay  3000.00 for the lease this year Very Happy
