Yogi bear didn't run fast enough

Post  wihunter24 on Mon Jun 08, 2015 6:50 pm

In the battle of bear vs. Ford F350, neither came out victorious.  The truck ended up being towed away while the bear got a ride to the taxidermist.  A local guy who owns an excavating company hit the bear early one morning last week on his way to work.  The bear weighed in at 610 lbs.  DNR showed up and handed out a possession tag and some guys from the excavating company showed up with a skid steer to load the thing into my taxidermist's truck and it will eventually be turned into a full body mount.

That suckers been eating good this spring!  Is that the one that was terrorizing your cameras?  Are there many in your area or just the one?

This was hit about 15-20 miles from me.  There have been a few shot in that area in recent years.  I've only heard of 1 being seen closer to my area this spring.  Thankfully I only had a handful of bear pics last year and no camera issues.  I'm hoping they've moved onto the neighbors.  That being said, it seems like the bear population is increasing and there's more sightings every year around here.

Yes, we have a bear season.  No, I don't have any interest what so ever.

LOl I am not interested in hunting  bear either ,  I  honesty have no  idea  why  but when it comes to hunting - If it  aint   packing   a   big ole  rack or  has   a longbeard and spurs'-.  Those  are  the  creatures    that get my heart rate up, I have always  want   a full body mount  cub mount foot stool size for the  living  room tho Smile

That's a shame right there. Glad it took out a ford though Very Happy Very Happy !! That would have easily been over 700 pounds come fall !! Barb and Zach you have no clue what a real trophy that bear is. To take a B&C or P&Y sized buck is so easy compared to doing the same on a bear. Heck it took me 20 years to finally get mine and it was no where close to being big Very Happy !! That critter was more than likely at least 15 years old. I have only seen 3 over 700 pounds since I can remember. I hate seeing any critter get killed by a vehicle , but seeing a huge bear like that just sucks.
