Just my luck

Post  Boss Gobbler on Sun Sep 13, 2015 8:13 pm

I have been working on making some new food plots. I decided to clear a spot to plant some winter wheat, maybe it will help me find some sheds. I mowed it last weekend. I went back today to remow and spray roundup. Let me say that I always take my bow with me if the season is open.  Today I didn't,  I figured I would be on the tractor most of the time. I mow the field then come back in the truck to spray the field. I had sprayed half of the field with a backpack sprayer. I stopped  to refill the sprayer from the tank in the truck.  At that moment  my #2 buck comes trotting out of the cedars and stops 10 yards away. He is use to seeing the truck and I'm guessing  the roundup was keeping him from winding me. He stood there looking  for over a minute then just walked off. All this took place at 4pm about 2 hours before I expected them to be up moving. That is the way it goes. It was strange because if  he had not come out at that very minute I wouldn't have even noticed him. When I was spraying I was looking down the whole time.

It's hard to work carrying a bow. I think your #1 buck was probably back in the brush making a bet with #2 that he wouldn't do it. And the #2 buck won the bet.  lol!

After I thought about it, I was trying to get the air pressure out of the tank so I could take the filler cap off. I wondered if maybe he thought it was a deer snort wheezing. I could see where it sounded similar.
