Thumbs up for this slug thrower!
Recently, I picked up this H&R 935 Ultra slug hunter for my wife Lisa. It's chambered in 3'' 20ga with a heavy bull barrel. We took it to the range yesterday to tune it in with the Redhead Elite 3.5x10 scope we added to the package. Let me tell you this........... The 2 3/4'' Remington Core lock sabots dialed right in at 100 yds, putting five 260 grain slugs in the same hole!

The ballistics at 200 yards are unbelievable. The small bullet only drops 6.2 inches and still has 1080 foot lbs on impact! Plenty for a well placed shot.
I have literally spent thousands in the past for slug guns and this inexpensive gun out shoots them all! If anyone is looking for a tack driver. I highly recommend the 935.

The gun it self was $360.00. They have the same gun with out he laminated stock for around $280.00. I have the lesser of the two in 12 gage and have taken animals out to 175 yards. With the right conditions, I wouldn't hesitate to take a 200 yard shot!

That stock is very nice, and on a slug thrower that works THAT well. I bet your wife loves it!

Sweet rig. Sounds like it is pretty accurate. Good luck to her out hunting.

I have been wanting to get a bolt action 12 ga slug gun for myself, to put a scope on.
But I would also like to have a 20 ga slug gun. I take my nephews and other youths hunting, this looks like a good weapon to have. I might even have some fun shooting something like this myself.
With that heavy barrel I would guess recoil is manageable for youths?

That is a nice looking gun, this is not the first time I have heard good reviews on this gun. I will be picking one up this year as well, I am just not sure if I want the 12 ga or the 20 ga, any opinions. Recoil is not a consideration

Neither the 12 or the 20 have much recoil. One consideration is weight, the 12 weighs almost 2lbs more than the 20 and is not a gun you would like to Carry for long distances. Although, in a stand situation they are lethal. Believe it or not, there is very little difference in ballistics either. The 20 gives up a little in slug weight but not enough to make much of a difference. According to the ballistics charts both calibers have the punch out to 200 yards.
Re: Thumbs up for this slug thrower!
Being a left handed person, with a pretty weak left shoulder due to injury... from what you're saying, it sounds like the 20 would be a reasonable choice...
Re: Thumbs up for this slug thrower!
I have both the 20 and 12 if you would like to try them out? I know after seeing their performance you will be impressed.
Re: Thumbs up for this slug thrower!
I've got a buddy with the 20 gauge and your right, its a tack driver! I've got my ML now so the range and accuracy would be about the same. It would make a great youth gun as well.

I appreciate the offer! If/when I get to the point of being ready to pick one up, I'll definitely take you up on it so that I can take a real look first. Though I think I'm already sold, via what you've said, on the 20. Also, I REALLY like that scope on it!

That is a nice looking gun right there.
