Re: Bow Target/s
I have used a "Black Hole" target for a few years now. It is really nice. I can shoot both field tips as well as broadheads into it. I just spray paint new spots to shoot at on it once I wear out the old ones. The great thing about this target is that it is very small and I can take it anywhere. I also have a Delta 3D deer target. I'm not sure what model it is but the vitals on it are the same thing with the foam layers.

I am currently shooting two different targets. How much do you have to spend on your target? What type of Broadhead do you shoot?
In MY opinion, In MY opinion, note I said that twice. Rhinehart makes the best all around target on the market. If you have never shot into one than you wouldnt understand. But they are considerably different in thier construction, there are no layers in them. I have the 16 sided rhinehart, its my second one, the first one is still usable but it has seen its better days. I shot it for 9 years. I only practice with my broadheads. If I shoot a 3 d or something I will shoot my field points into an old Mcenzie shot blocker, its falling apart from one season of broadheads put still handles feild points.
Rhinehart has a new square target out this year.
You will pay the same amount for a 16 sided or the new square rhinehart as you would a Block target, the size of the rhineharts is a bit smaller but plenty big enough.

Re: Bow Target/s
shoot i just went to fleet farm and got one of the cheapest ones they had for just a simple foam box target or w.e they are made of and mine has held up great, ive been dumb and forgot it out in the rain and still is in good shape and i shoot broad heads into mine too, it gets ripped alil from the broad heads but nothing severe as of now... but then again i dont shoot with much poundage, idk if that puts more of a beating on them or not

I have the "Original Block" as well as the "Block Fusion". I haven't shot a field point in years, so my targets get a little chewed up from broadheads. My theory is that I'm hunting with broadheads, so that's what I'm sighting in with and practicing with.
The Original Block has held up reasonably well over the last couple years, but every now and then I can sneak an arrow all the way through it and into the grass on the other side. At the same time it's expected since the layers are exposed and with every shot some of the layers get slivered off.
I bought the Block Fusion late last summer and really haven't been all that impessed with it. Yeah it stops arrows and they're easy to pull out. I don't have that many shots (a couple hundred at the absolutel most) into the thing and 2 sides are basically falling apart. On both sides, the outer "more solid" (or whatever you want to call it) layer is completely gone and all I've got is a big hole with the internal layers exposed. With every shot I lose more and more of my target and I've already sent several arrows completely through it. The thing will be toast by August at the latest.
I used to have a McKenzie 3d deer that actually lasted pretty long- although I'd compare trying to pull the arrows out to training for the World's Strongest Man competition.

I have a Delta Broadhead Buck that I (obviously) use broadheads on.
Then I have a Delta Raccoon 3D, a Spyderweb 24"x24" block, and a Green Target 24"x24" block (made from recycled materials) that I only use Field Points on.
The Broadhead Buck is great. Just make sure you hit the replaceable core, and it'll last for a long time by just replacing that one part.
The Raccoon has taken a ton of hits. Because I only use field points on it, it's going to take a ton more hits.
The Green Target was the cheapest of the lot, but works just fine. Haven't shot one all the way through it yet.
The Spyderweb target is great if your field point is exactly the same diameter as your shaft. You won't find a target anywhere that the arrow pulls out more easily (so long as your field point is exactly the same diameter as your shaft!![yes, I'm repeating this stipulation because they fail to mention it anywhere on their site]). If it isn't, it catches at the point when you pull it out.

Re: Bow Target/s
DB- we have used Morrell Target's for year's- only thing I don't like, is that you have to have two different target's - The block type for broadheads'a and the bag target for field tip's
I am like Zack- I have not shot a field tip for year's- I don't hunt with field tip's
They are a great and very inexpensive target that will last your for year's( second target in 7 years- and It has taken a lot of MuZZy's)
And I will be honest - I have never had to by one - they have been given to us free buy Dale himself-
And they will hold up for year's
If I ever have to by one- it will be a Rhinehart- I have not ever heard of one dissatisfied customer that has used their target's
I have really never been sold on the block
So I guess my 2cent's on target's would be the Rhinehart or the Morrel if your not wanting to spend a lot of money

Shooting a Mckenzie Travel Pro right now, also have a Delta bag and 3D buck. They all work well enough for field points.
I'm always amazed at how the riehnharts at the range hold up but the scorpion venom is a must have over there.

Re: Bow Target/s
Here's what a Block Fusion will look like after some shots with Muzzy practice broaheads.... 2 different sides all chewed up and they probably won't last til August. These targets aren't supposed "sliver" and fall apart, yet once I pull my arrows out, I've got to pick the foam (both the inner and outer layers) off the ground and stuff it back into the target.
