Peep Sight Twist

Post  G3 on Sun Aug 01, 2010 4:12 pm

I could use some ideas om what y'all do to make your peep sight not twist. Do you tie some serving on or what. I have always used the peeps with a rubber tube that always sets them straight but I am now using the G% Meta peep and it is starting to drive me bonkers having to fix it every shot

Hey Tim, sounds like the string is stretching a little bit on ya. The only way to fix it is to put it in a bow press and twist the string itself the opposite way and take it out of the bow press and keep on doing it until it rolls where you want it.

First it was Tim's not going to have a bow for Barb's and now it's that his peep's turned... lol! Roll on the Floor La

Hey Tim, I've got a solution that's a one time fix and it's a lot less labor intensive than Harry's idea...... Lose the peep all together and don't worry about it!

peep

Post  adkinsfamily2005 on Sun Aug 01, 2010 9:17 pm

NOOOOOOOOOOOOO........don't twist the string. It can usually be fixed by adjusting how the peep sits in the string and by using the serving used to tie the peep in. If you go twisting and untwisting you can throw the timing off on a two cam bow. Which is what the monster is. Trust me Tim. It can be fixed. And make sure that who ever works on your bow backs the limbs out 5 full turns before they press it. And make sure they only use an X-PRESS. Almost all the other kinds of press's put too much pressure on the limbs, cams and cam shafts. They will twist the living daylights out of your limbs. If they don't back them out 5 turns then they will crack your limbs. It has to be done every time. This is straight from Mathews. When you are here on Thursday i will take you too the shop and we will fix anything you need done and make sure it is tuned to a knats A$$.

That worked back in the 70's. We are now a tech savy generation. I do subscribe to the "You can KISS my A$%" theory though Good! Roll on the Floor La Roll on the Floor La Roll on the Floor La Sorry i just couldn't stop myself. I would never do without my peep. Accuracy means way to much to me as long distances come into play.

Thats what you get for buying a mathews !!! If they made a good bow, you wouldn't have to woryy about a thing !!!
Seriously, I went thru 2 days of pain with my Bowtech when it was new. Then I went old school and put a peep with a tube on it, thats a no fail every time.

do you get much noise out of your tube ? I just had a new tube put on my bow and now it is a tad noisy...was thinking of going with a string splitter or something like that??

I asume you are shooting a d loop, if you are not mess with the peep as much as the d loop. new bow, or just a new string they all do it and it just takes time to get it all settled in. Shoot more. Try turning your loop and then just turning your peep by hand.
