bow hunt year round?

Post  buckeyehunter on Sun Dec 26, 2010 8:02 pm

as for me im not satisfied with only 4 months i have to hunt year round. The rest of the months i spend bow hunting coyotes and groundhog in ohio no closed season on either of them.I have a buddy whos grandparents own a vegatable farm so i really enjoy spot and stalk groundhogs. After a summer of killing dozens of hogs it makes deer look huge in your sights come fall.I dont know if it is a.d.d but i got to be out there hunting.New to the sight but it seems like everyone gets along unlike some sights and these days hunters dont need to be beating up other hunters enough people do that these days.Anyways love the sight and what a great place to spend your time when all you can do is think about hunting.

We don't have quite so many of them around here, but for the ones that we do... groundhogs are a "shoot on sight" varmint. I got 3 of them with my bow this year. My small game license is good for a year at a time, and I put it to good use on them, and any other varmint that wants my landscaping for it's dinner... Twisted Evil

I see no good in people beating up on each other. This is a family orientated site, and we're all here because we ENJOY this stuff!
Good!

No, no, no... I understood that what you were saying was positive, and I was agreeing with you that a friendly site works well for all! Smile

I am with ya 110% on this site....I was on a few other sites and just didnt like the way they attacked each other and if you didnt think the way they did then you were a piece of crap....I even had 2 of the folks on here come down and hunt with me...and turned out to be 2 of the nicest guys you would ever want to meet...very respectful and just plain fun to hang with....this site to me just plain understands what it is all about...not who it is all about...if you have a question you will get answers...if you have a comment you will be heard...you are a part of this family we call USAHP....

No hog hunting with the bow here. I might miss !!! The 22 mag is with me all the time when they start coming out of the ground !! They were not hunted here when we bought our house, so I asked the neighborif she looked at them as pets. She said no, so I told her if I stop my truck on the driveway, I.m gonna shoot one. Well the 1st summer we were here I killed 119 of them !! 96 camefrom in front of her house, all within a 100 yard long section of grass !!!

Eat groundhogs ?? Not me !! I did give mine to an older fella but he has since passed on. I just can't bring myself to eat something that has flies all over it, when its alive !!
The hog numbers were unreal here. Then again they weren't hunted for years. Just when I thought they were gone, another one would pop up. They are finally under control. last year I shot less than 20 !!
