Nasty hen attacking my Dave Smith hen decoy
Nasty hen attacking my Dave Smith hen decoy
First time I put it out last spring and thought she was on a mission to destroy the new "intruder"....

Sweet video, how do you like those DSD's? I hunted over them with a buddy last year and man are they sweet! The only thing that's dettering me from buying them is the fact that their a hard body decoy and it'd be tough to run and gun with them. I'll still probably end up pulling the trigger on at least a feeding hen and Jake before season though.

Thanks all. I only wish I had had the mic in the Roscoby, she was making some unbelievable sounds and I could tell she was none too pleased.
Had quite a few decoys in the past but nothing compares. Hardbody dekes are a pain for sure, but that girl was attacked 4 times after that in 4 different locations. I'm a believer.
The new DSD's are soft body, so a little easier to manage if running and gunning.

I would have shot the stupid thing. It would think twice on messing with my decoy.

Felt like it, believe me. Hens aren't legal in the spring unless they have a visible beard.
I do have a bearded hen running around here, but it wasn't the one bent on destroying the DSD.
Here's last falls trailcam vid of the bearded hen. She's in the lower center and the last one to stick around. Should have sound if you turn up the speakers...

Thanks, I read that stuff before but I guess I just didn't put 2 and 2 together. Sounds like I'll be placing an order soon

That Hen was relentless... Those DSD are top notch but I just can't see spending the money on them whenever my $15 work just fine for me. Definately are the most realistic decoys i've ever seen.
Sweet video's man and keep them coming! Can't wait for some spring turkey hunting!

Our season is divided into segments and I opt for the last, which is the longest of all and when hunting with the bow I find I can use all the time I can get.
The downside is that the birds have already been hunted hard, have seen it all and heard it all for 2-3 weeks prior to my hunt.
They can be very tough customers to deal with, and using the DSD's for realism has definitely helped. Rather have not spent the extra money, but in my situation it has been well worth the added investment.
