New to Indiana
Hoping someone from Indiana has some suggestions on two different questions both near Indianapolis.
1. Is there any dove fields on public land to hunt?
2. Suggestions on public land to hunt for early archery season?
I appreciate any and all suggestions. Also, willing to join a lease if anyone has any openings.

Welcome to the site, It really depends on where and how far you are willing to drive, the one piece of public ground that I have alot of background knowledge of is Brookville which about hour and half east of Indianapolis, but has planted dove fields (MANY) just look it up on the Indiana DNR website and you can download a hunting map and give you all the particulars. Brookville is also a great place to Whitetail hunt, if you are willing to go in farther than most, you will have great success. PM me if you any other questions and again welcome

Re: New to Indiana
Welcome to the site and the state.
You've got Willow Slough, Jasper-Pulaski Fish and Wildlife Area and Winamac F&W all within a couple hours to your North depending on what side of Indy you are on. They all have pretty good dove hunting opportunities. The first couple days are reserved hunts done by drawings but after that you can get on and still kill some birds. Another place up by Winamac is Sandy Prarie Hunt club if you don't mind paying to play. I think he charges 50 bucks for a half day but he's got a ton of sunflowers planted and they shoot a ton of birds up there.
I can't help much on the deer, they take some good bucks from time to time in the places I mentioned but it's pretty crowded from what I hear. The turkey hunting is done by drawing as well (week day no-show drawings are the way to go) but if you can draw a tag you are in for some pretty good turkey hunting. Good luck and Happy Hunting
